Reflecting on a July conversation when Jim said the Phillies' main competition for the wild card would be the Marlins and the Cubs, I am reminded of what a poor life it must be to a fan from Philadelphia since Dr. J retired. Ditto to you Pimp and your 'that team has a bad vibe' comments.

I knew somehow, that somewhere, you'd be saying "I told you so." Congrats, I guess next year when the Astros are the worst team in the league at the beginning of the season, I'll keep my mouth shut. Brett, I'll be cheering for the Astros just for you. Seriously. Go Stros!

Yes, it is absolutely brutal being a Philly sports fan. The Phils are the worst team in professional sports history...that's a fact. It has been since 83' since we've had a championship. the Phils lost the series that year to Baltimore but the 76ers came thru. It was 1980 when the Phils beat the Astros on their way to their only World Series title. For the countries 5th largest market it is truely a pathetic record.
In the past 25 years New York, the largest, has had countless titles and title game appearances (Yanks, Mets,Giants,Rangers,Isles). Chicago had the 85 Bears and Michael Jordan, not to mention the hapless Hawks. LA, number 3, had the Lakers,Angels,Dodgers,Kings,Raiders all winning or playing for a title. And Philly could only muster 2 titles and 10 championship losses.
Oh yeah. What's the 4th largest market? Houston. With 2 NBA titles and a loss in the finals. A baseball team that's never ever been to a World Series. Two football franchises that have never been to a Super Bowl. Hockey? NASCAR? Cow tipping? Gnip Gnop?
It really is brutal being a Philly fan, but I guess it could be worse. But then what am I talking about. Your from Montana. Right?
