Definition

Irony: incongruity between the actual result of a sequence of events and the normal or expected result

Ex: (Via Hsu Yung-ming 徐永明, Taipei Times) - Former Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) chairman Shih Ming-teh (施明德), leader of the protest against Taiwan president, Chen Shui-bian (陳水扁), silently enduring / savoring his red-clad protesters watch and cheer an actor impersonate the late dictator Chiang Ching-kuo (蔣經國). Chiang and his father, Chiang Kai-Shek, jailed Shi for 25 years, 13 of them in solitary confinement. Chen Shui-bian was part of his defense team.
