Buy your own damn fries!
Between the stripes at the bottom of the picture it says "GQ Taiwan". Why would a baseball uniform be considered fashionable. Perhaps Big Gay Lance and Bread bought a lot of stock in mens fashion magazines. If that is true, you can expect to see some colorful hawaii jump suits on the runway soon.

This whole Wang phenamenon is driving me nuts and I can't help but feeling sad about this craze. As Taiwan is immersed in this political nonsense and falling behind in international competitiveness, Wang has become the "hope" to somehow soothe the depressed Taiwanese.
Everybody have fun tonight! Everybody Wang Chung tonight!
The Wang phenomenon is driving you nuts? Every country needs to have an icon and I believe the Wang Jian Ming story is amazing. The moral is to work hard to get ahead in life. I watch the news daily and I'm sick and tired of watching the ridiculous charades of politics amount to nothing.
The Picture as posted by Kevlar is a promotion currently being run by 7-11. For $200nt you can get the poster as well as a 2007 day calendar. A great souvenir before returning home, and a great symbol of achievement for Taiwanese.
Taiwan, sadly a sinking ship! Realize it now.
Gee Wizzz anonymous,
What ocean bound vessel are you so proudly aboard that makes you stick your "anonymous" chest out so far ?? China maybe ?? And what is it about Taiwan exactly that makes you think we're sinking and that we need to "realize it now" ?
Lori,
Pele stopped a war and Billy Joe Tolliver united millions of fans from the US and Canada against mediocrity.
supporting and cheering and taking pride in a successful home grown athlete is not a "craze"...
remember the egg tart thing? that was a craze...
i dont think lori understands sports or politics...
Egg tarts...UGH...KFC still sells them.
I just regret that this Wang guy had to play for the Yankees. Now everyone here is a Yankees fan.
I would have loved him to play for the Oakland A's - then everyone would have to wear a green hat! (In Chinese culture "wearing a green hat" = wife cuckolding you.
PIMP,
That's not a bad idea for a souvenir or gift...
green hats mean cuckholding in other cultures too!
Shit, I have a ton of green hats and i didn't know why until now.
Whooo..feeling like an outcast here..I was looking for the AMCHAM Taichung web site and was accidently led to this blog. No I don't understand sports or politics and have no intention of wanting to..Sorry to intrude.
As a Taiwanese, I can certainly emphathize with the "sinking Taiwan" statement.
Have fun!
