Oil Stones

Ca. mid last century the Soviets built a city in the middle of the Caspian to drill for oil. Since the discovery of oil in Siberia the place has been largely forgotten though apparently people still live there. Scroll down for a rousing video tribute to the city in the sea.

This pic makes me think of Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri. Remember the crazy white haired professor character that looked like a scientific hippy version of J Hole? Baikonaur!
